Pets BeJeweled began in 1999.  Monica's beloved black and tan longhaired dachshund, Arementa was continaually being mistaken for a boy dog.  Using some beads from a broken necklace she fashioned a 'jewel' for Arementa to wear.  She was a few years ahead of her time.

So back to the studio she went.

In 2004, while working on a project for her Girl Scout Troop, an idea struck her.  Mixing some leftover clay she had from the project, she scultped her first dachshund pin.  From that first minature sculpture she has continured to photograph and sketch dogs, cats and more.

Monica is a breeder, owner and handler of champion minature longhair dachshunds.  The 'Dachsie Jewels' are :

Trillium's Christmas Jewel ML,  Azaria; Miss Arementa Victorian Princess ML CGC TDI, Arementa; our newest addition, CH Jewels Peridot & Pearls MLC, Allie; FC Trillium Pearl Essence ML, Adealia.   The 'Jewels Girls' are her passion and inspiration.
